My Favourite Go to Styles That Slay & Save My Hair

Hey love! πŸ’•
If you’ve got thick, long, natural hair like me, then you know the hustle — keeping it healthy and looking cute can feel like a full-time job πŸ˜…. But I’ve found some styles that are not only super protective, but also super stylish — and I’m here to spill the tea! ☕✨

Whether you're rushing to work, heading to brunch with the girls, or just vibing at home, these are my go-to protective styles that keep my strands thriving:

🌸 1. The High Puff

A classic! It's quick, cute, and gives "I woke up like this" energy.
What I use: Wide-tooth comb, edge control, satin scrunchie.
πŸ’‘ Perfect for Day 3 twist-outs or when my hair’s being dramatic.

🌻 2. Bantu Knots

Listen, these are not just a style, they’re a whole moment.
They keep my hair stretched, protected, and give me that bold, confident look that always turns heads.
Bonus? When I take them down, I get a super defined curly style. Two for one!
My essentials: Leave-in conditioner + a little oil for shine.

🌿 3. Chunky Twists

Easy to do and they help with length retention.
What I love: They’re low tension and I can wear them for days.
Bonus: They unravel into a bomb twist-out! πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ‘‘ 4. Afro Wig Days

Because protective doesn’t mean boring.
I throw on my curly afro wig when I want extra volume with zero stress on my scalp.
Tip: Glueless wigs are your best friend.

✨ 5. Sleek Bun with a Side Part

Clean, elegant, and protective—this style got me through interviews, weddings, and lazy Sundays.
Key tool: Satin scarf for smooth edges overnight!

🌺 6. Braided Crown

A little effort, major results. I feel like royalty every time I do this one.
It’s great for keeping hair tucked away and moisturized.

πŸ’¬ Tell me:
What’s your favorite go-to natural hair style? Or is there one you’ve been dying to try?

Don’t forget — your hair is your crown, so rock it proud and protect it with love πŸ’•✨

🌸 What’s the Difference Between a Leave-In Conditioner and a Rinse-Out Conditioner?

Welcome back to the blog, fam! πŸ‘‹ Today, we’re breaking down a common question — and if you’re new to hair care, this post is especially for you. You’ve probably heard people talk about leave-in conditioner and rinse-out conditioner , but what do they really do? Do you need both? Let’s make it simple. 🧴 What Is a Rinse-Out Conditioner? This is the conditioner you use right after shampooing your hair. Just like how lotion softens your skin after washing it — rinse-out conditioner softens your hair after cleansing. ✅ What it does: Adds moisture back into your hair after shampooing Makes your hair soft, smooth, and easy to detangle Helps reduce breakage and frizz Prepares your hair for styling ✅ How to use it: Shampoo your hair and rinse it out. Apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends of your hair (not the scalp). Leave it on for 2–5 minutes. Rinse it out thoroughly with water. 🧠 Think of it as a quick hug for your hair — helping it bounc...
